At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ian Linkletter told his followers that Proctorio is a terrible company (as we also found out in Robin Pocornie’s complaint against the VU). Linkletter shared a link to a YouTube video that was put online by Proctorio, and they started a SLAPP, basically a lawsuit to intimidate him and shut him up.
Now, years later, Proctorio and Linkletter have settled the case. It cost Linkletter ten times his savings, and he only didn’t go under because of crowdfunding support, his employers, and a pro bono law firm. Proctorio gained nothing.
We want to congratulate Ian on this being over and thank him for continuing to tell the truth about Proctorio, even under incredible duress.
