On July 9th 2026, we hosted a screening, discussion and fundraiser centred around the migrant justice organising in the face of the oppressive use of technology in the context of migration and borders.
We are grateful to Plantage Dok for the use of the space, to Het Rode Keukentje for providing food, and to everyone contributing to the heavy yet warmhearted conversation. Through all of your support, we were able to raise more than 400 euros for several racialised queer people currently in the asylum process.
In particular, we want to thank the panellists, Monish Bathia, Nawal Mustafa and Sanne Stevens, for sharing their expertise and experience. With the screening of No Release as a starting point, our conversation touched on the dehumanising function of the Dutch and UK border regimes, on the dangerous intersection of the criminal justice and migration systems, as well as on the role and tasks of migration justice organising in times of rising fascism. A clear call to action was to fight this violence and dehumanisation in our own communities and environments, and not necessarily or only focus our energies on the wider institutional structures that sustain them to begin with.
Finally, as the researcher behind the film, Monish is hoping to collect feedback on No Release through this feedback form.
